Turkey Club

1 lb thinly sliced oven browned turkey breast

1/2 lb Bacon (cooked in advance)

1/2 lb Swiss Cheese

1/2 lb sharp cheddar

1 loaf pumpernickle and rye bread

Handful of dried cranberries

Handful of Lettuce (Blue Harbor recommended)

Few slices of fresh tomato

Few Slices of onion (optional)

Gulden’s mustard

Hellman’s mayonaise

Pepperoncinis (only if you want a good kick)

A good sandwich is all about the assembly the wrong ingredients next to each other and you are going to need a fork for this one.

In a small bowl mix a quarter cup of mayonaise with the handful of dried cranberries set to the side.  Begin sandwisc assembly by laying out two pieces of bread per person. One piece should be smeared with gulden’s mustard the other with the cranberry/mayonaise mixture (don’t over do it or your sandwich will slide apart; if you need more you can place it in the center between the meats). Place the lettuce on top of the maynaise side of the bread.  If you opted for onions or pepperoncinis place these on top of the lettuce. Next those beautiful slices of tomato.  Then a good pile of turkey breast, thin slice of swiss, and then cheddar. Top that mound of goodness with a few slices of crispy bacon.  And then press her together with the other side of bread.

        2-3 large sandwiches

A few sandwich secrets:

never place cheese next to tomato or dressing (mayo/mustard) as they will slip and slide

toast your bread first, for added crunch; put an extra piece in the middle for a triple decker

don’t be shy with meat and cheese its a sandwich not a salad! try two or even three meats

Add a little sweetness to make it special (dried fruit, slice of mango, pear or strawberry)

Good lettuce makes all the difference!
